Frequently Asked Questions My Clients Are Asking

how do i book with you?

Since hair services are tailored to each client, everyone needs different time durations! The best ways to coordinate your appointment is by DM me @noellenoel_, email me, text me, or fill out my form if you are new!

Will hair extensions ruin my natural hair?

Hair extensions will not ruin your hair if done correctly.  You can be a professional and still not install correctly. The stylist who installs the extensions needs to be properly trained to make sure the health of your natural hair is the foundation of their application.  On top of that, the person who is getting the hair extensions installed, needs to follow the at home steps given to them at the appointment to make sure their hair and the extension hair stay healthy and strong in between appointments. If both people are committed to this process, extensions will not damage the hair. If you have any questions about maintenance or aftercare, please send me a message!

what kind of hair do you use for EXTENSIONS?

I am a JZ Styles certified stylist.  JZ Styles, is also the hair I use for my installations.  I love the quality of their hair, the color options, customization, and different hair length to choose from when picking the perfect extension.

Do you offer financing for hair extensions?

Yes!  I offer AfterPay for the purchasing of your hair extensions!  Hair will be purchased at least two weeks before installation to make sure it arrives on time. Whats the difference between a root tap and root smudge?

What is the difference between a root tap and a root smudge?

A root tap and a root smudge are very similar. Both are applied the same way - on the root, on damp hair, and blended with a brush to ensure the best results. A root smudge and a root tap prolong the hair color making for a more low maintenance, high-end color. The difference between the two is that a root smudge is brought down further creating a more rooty look while a root tap is just a “tap” at the root to soften, intended to buff and blend. A root tap and root smudge techniques can be used with almost any color based on your hair goals and inspiration!

will highlighting damage my hair?

First we have to look at what highlighting is.  Highlighting uses professional grade lightener on the hair to lift the color out of each strand, making it, well… lighter.  During this process, not only is the color being lifted out of the hair but also essential moisture and proteins, which is essential for hair health. As a hairstylist, I understand this exchange of process and take extra measures to ensure the integrity of the hair.  I always use gentle lightners, anti-damage hair mask treatment with every highlighting service, and use zero to minimal heat for processing. Taking the best care of your highlighted hair at home is also required for best results. I always go over a very detailed haircare regimen to make sure the nutrients are being put back into the hair.

what is the difference between permanent and semi-permanent hair color?

Permanent color lifts and penetrates the hair cuticle.  Semi permanent hair color, colors the hair by depositing on the outside of the hair cuticle.  Both hair colors can achieve long term results, but my preference is semi-permanent because it is easier to lift out of the hair or alter in future appointments where permanent can be more stubborn and require more in cost. I use permanent color in two circumstances. Firstly, its great for grey coverage and second, it is great for resistant hair that is stubborn to color!
